Overview
To use some parts of SellAnyBiz you need to confirm who you are. You do this by sending a photo of an official identity document — a passport, national ID card, driving licence, Emirates ID, or residency visa. This page explains exactly what happens to that photo and to the details printed on it.
This page covers the identity check only. For everything else, see our Privacy Policy.
1. How we use your ID
We use your identity document for these purposes only:
- Check the document is genuine: We confirm it looks valid and has not expired.
- Confirm who you are: We match the details printed on the document to the name on your account.
- Protect against fraud: We check that the same document is not being used to open more than one account.
2. What we delete
We do not keep your document photo.
- The photo itself: It is deleted from our storage once the check finishes, whether you are approved or not.
- Photos you never send: If you upload a photo but do not finish the check, it is deleted after 7 days.
- Your full document number: It is never written down. We keep only the last 4 characters.
- The code strip on a passport: The machine-readable lines at the bottom of a passport are never stored.
3. What we keep
So that we do not have to ask you again, we keep a short record of the result:
- Your name: Your legal first and last name.
- Your date of birth: As printed on the document.
- Your nationality: As printed on the document.
- The name on the document: Kept separately, in case it differs from the name on your account.
- The last 4 characters: Of your document number — never the full number.
- The document dates: When it was issued, when it expires, and which type of document you sent.
- The result: Whether the check passed or failed, the reason if it failed, and a short note from the automated check.
We keep this record for as long as your account exists. You can ask us to delete it — see “Your choices” below.
4. Who else sees your document
The check is run by an outside AI service, not by our own staff. This means your document photo leaves our servers:
- Where it goes: The photo is sent to OpenRouter, which passes it to Google's Gemini model to read it.
- How it is sent: Over an encrypted connection, and we ask the provider not to keep a copy.
A provider may still hold the photo briefly in temporary memory while it works. That is outside our control and we cannot switch it off.
5. A computer decides, not a person
There is no manual review step. An automated check reads your document and decides on its own whether to approve you.
If it does not approve you, nobody at SellAnyBiz reviews that decision by hand. Send your document again — a clearer photo, good lighting, and all four corners in the frame usually fixes it.
If it still does not work after a few tries, contact us and we will help.
6. How we protect it
While the photo is with us it sits in private storage. There is no public link to it, and no shareable link is ever created.
Only our own systems can open it, using a key that is never sent to your browser.
7. Your choices
You stay in control of this record:
- Ask what we hold: Write to us and we will tell you exactly what identity record we have for you.
- Ask us to delete it: You can ask us to delete it. We may then need you to verify again before you can use some features.
8. Changes to this page
If we change how the identity check works, we will update this page and change the date shown above.
