Managing Company Information, Locations, and Owners

This process explains how to review and manage your company’s official information, registered and operating addresses, and ownership details, including assigning or transferring the seller role to an owner.

Step 1: Review Official Company Information

Company info is the official side of your business that buyers see. This includes the country, company type, registered name, company registration number, and the trading name your customers actually know you by.
If the app finds your company in the official records, these fields are already filled in and locked. They stay synchronized with the official register, so you never have to update them manually.

Step 2: Confirm the Registered Business Address

Next, review the registered address of the business, which buyers will see as your main location.

Screenshot 1

Ensure this address matches your official registration details, as this is the primary address displayed to buyers.

Step 3: Add Additional Business Locations

Add any other places you operate from, such as shops, branches, warehouses, or any additional locations you want buyers to see.

Screenshot 2 Screenshot 3

Use the interface to add each location with accurate and up-to-date details.

Step 4: Add and Configure Business Owners

Lastly, configure the ownership details. Add each person who owns a share of the business and specify how much each person owns.

Screenshot 4

Once owners are added, you can pass the seller role to one of them by sending a link or an invite.

Screenshot 5

Enter the relevant details in the provided fields.

Screenshot 6 Screenshot 7

Proceed to initiate the role transfer.

For example, select the owner and choose the option to add or assign the role.

Then click “Make Seller” and “Send Claim.” If the owner accepts the claim, they will become the seller, and you can then manage their mandate and permissions as needed.

Introduction

This FAQ covers how official company information, addresses, and owners are managed in the app, and how the seller role can be assigned or transferred to an owner. It is aimed at users responsible for setting up or maintaining their organisation’s company profile.

FAQ Content

Company Information and Official Records

Q1. What is included under "Company info" and who can see it?
Company info is the official side of your business that buyers see. It includes the country, company type, registered name, company registration number, and the name your customers actually know you by.

Q2. What happens if the app finds my company in official records?
If the app finds your company in the official records, the relevant company info fields are already filled in and locked. These details stay in step with the official register, so you never have to update them manually.

Q3. Can I edit locked company information fields?
No, locked company information fields cannot be edited in the app. They are synchronised with the official register and remain read-only for you.

Addresses and Locations

Q4. What is the difference between the main address and other locations?
The main address is the address where the business is registered, and buyers see this as your main location. Any other places you run from, such as a shop, branch, warehouse, or other sites, are added separately as additional locations.

Q5. Are buyers able to see all my addresses?
Buyers see the address where the business is registered as your main location. Additional locations are stored under the places you run from; the transcript does not specify exactly how buyers see those additional locations.

Owners and Ownership

Q6. What information do I need to add under "Owners"?
Under Owners, you add who owns the business and how much each person owns. Each owner entry should reflect the ownership share for that person.

Q7. Why is ownership information important in the app?
Ownership information is used to show who controls the business and to enable you to pass the seller role to one of the owners. It helps ensure that the correct person can act as the seller on behalf of the business.

Seller Role and Claims

Q8. How do I pass the seller role to an owner?
You first add the person as an owner. Then you select that owner, click an option such as “Make Seller” and then “Send Claim” to pass the seller role to them via a link or invite.

Q9. What does “Send Claim” do when making someone the seller?
“Send Claim” sends a link or invite to the selected owner so they can accept the seller role. Once they accept the claim, they become the seller for the business in the app.

Q10. What happens after an owner accepts the seller claim?
If the owner accepts the claim, they become the seller. After that, you can manage this seller’s mandate from within the app.

Q11. Can I send the seller role invitation to any owner?
Yes, you can pass the seller role to one of the owners you have added. The process involves selecting the owner, using the “Make Seller” option, and then sending the claim for them to accept.
