What you can do with it

Connect a mailbox to read and send email inside SellAnyBiz, beside your other conversations.

  • Read and answer your mailIn your conversations, open the channel menu and choose Email. Your mailbox opens with Inbox, Starred, Sent, Drafts, Archive and Trash. You can read, search, star, archive, move to trash, write, reply, forward and save drafts.
  • Start an email conversationStart a new chat, choose Email and the mailbox to send from, and write to any address, with a subject.
  • Send campaignsAn outreach campaign can send its emails from a connected mailbox.

Whose account is it?

The account belongs to the workspace. SellAnyBiz also remembers who connected it.

  • Everyone in the workspace sees itEvery member finds the account on the Connected accounts page, with its name and its status.
  • Everyone can send from itA member who starts a new email chat chooses which connected mailbox to send from. They can choose yours.
  • Only you can open your mailboxThe mail screen shows a mailbox only to the person who connected it. A teammate cannot open your mailbox, and neither can an owner or an admin.
  • A chat is read by its membersA chat you start is created for you. Teammates see a chat only when they are members of it. Being in the workspace is not enough.
  • Who can disconnect itYou can always disconnect an account you connected. Disconnecting a teammate's account takes a workspace owner or an admin.
  • One workspace at a timeAn account can be connected to one workspace only. To use it in another workspace, disconnect it in the first one.

How to connect

  1. Sign in to SellAnyBiz and open Settings, then Connected accounts.
  2. Select Connect account, then choose Email.
  3. A sign-in window opens. Choose your mail provider (Google, Microsoft Outlook, or another provider through IMAP) and sign in.
  4. When you finish, the window closes on its own.
  5. SellAnyBiz waits until the connection is confirmed. Then you see Account connected, and the account's card says Connected.

If your browser blocks the window, the sign-in opens in the same tab instead. When you finish, you are brought back to SellAnyBiz.

The sign-in link works for one hour. You can also start from other places that offer Connect account, such as starting a new chat. The steps are the same.

What SellAnyBiz reads and keeps

SellAnyBiz reaches your mailbox through a connection service: another company that keeps the sign-in and passes messages between it and SellAnyBiz.

  • Your mailbox is read liveWhen you open the mail screen, SellAnyBiz reads your folders and messages from your mail provider at that moment. It does not keep a copy of your whole mailbox.
  • What is storedEmails that belong to a chat are stored with that chat: the ones sent from a chat or by a campaign, and the replies in the same thread.
  • New senders stay in your mailboxAn email from someone you have not written to from SellAnyBiz never opens a chat. It stays in your mailbox. Email has no incoming-chats switch.
  • Your actions are realWhat you do on the mail screen happens in your real mailbox: a message you archive there is archived in your mail provider too, and a draft is saved as a real draft.

An email sent from a chat or by a campaign goes out with open and link tracking, so it can show Opened. Opened is an estimate: mail scanners and privacy tools open emails too. An email you write on the mail screen is not tracked, unless it is a reply in a thread that already has a chat.

Good to know

  • You can connect more than one account, for example two mailboxes.
  • When a workspace has two or more accounts on the same channel, a chat shows which one it uses: the word via, then the account's name.
  • Before an email goes out, SellAnyBiz checks whether the addresses can receive mail. An address that cannot is refused, and your draft is kept. When the check is not available, the email is sent without it.
  • SellAnyBiz limits how many emails a campaign sends from one mailbox in a day, and the limit starts lower on a new mailbox.
  • Sync on the Connected accounts page checks your accounts again and refreshes their status. It never adds an account, and it never brings in messages.

Status, signing in again and disconnecting

  • ConnectingThe sign-in has not been confirmed yet.
  • ConnectedThe account works.
  • Signed outYour mail provider no longer accepts the saved sign-in. Select Sign in again on the card. Any member can do this. The account, its chats and its settings are kept.
  • ErrorSomething is wrong on the service's side. Signing in again does not fix this one. If it stays, contact us.
  • RemovedThe account was removed at the service. The person who connected it can select Connect again on the card to connect it once more. The old card keeps its chats until it is disconnected.
  1. Open Settings, then Connected accounts.
  2. Select Disconnect on the account's card, and confirm.
  • In SellAnyBizChats that use the account stop working. Connecting the account again later starts fresh: the old chats do not come back. The app tells you this before you confirm.
  • In your mailboxSellAnyBiz asks the connection service to remove its link to the account. Nothing is deleted in your mailbox itself.

If something goes wrong

  • No window opensYour browser blocked it, so the sign-in opened in the same tab. Finish it there and you are brought back.
  • Still confirming the connectionSellAnyBiz has not had the confirmation yet. If you finished signing in, the account appears shortly. You can keep working.
  • Connection timed outThe sign-in took too long. Start it again when you are ready.
  • This account is already connected in another workspaceAn account can be in one workspace only. Disconnect it there first, or use a different account. If you are a member of that workspace, the message names it.
  • This account is already in this workspaceIt is already here. Check its card: if it says Signed out, select Sign in again there. Its chats are kept.
  • The provider refused this accountThe service did not accept this account. It may already be connected somewhere else, or the service limits it. Try a different account, or try again later.
  • This account is already linked, but not to any workspaceAn earlier connection of this account did not finish, or was removed. Contact us and we will free it.
  • Finish the connection that is already open firstOne sign-in at a time in a browser tab. Finish or close the one that is open.
  • Account connections are temporarily pausedSellAnyBiz pauses new connections for a short time, for example during an update. Accounts that are already connected keep working. Try again a little later.
  • This mailbox needs to be reconnectedThe mailbox is not connected properly at the moment. Open Settings, then Connected accounts, and look at its status. If it says Signed out, select Sign in again.

Individual and team use

The mailbox is a workspace account: every member can start conversations from it. Reading an existing chat still requires chat membership; sharing the sender does not share every conversation.

Capabilities and limits

Connects a Google, Microsoft, or IMAP mailbox for SellAnyBiz conversations.

  • There is no private mailbox mode or email incoming-chat toggle. Do not assume Microsoft shared-mailbox delegation is supported by the hosted login. The same mailbox cannot be attached to two workspaces.

Connecting, renewal, and removal

Connect from Settings → Connected accounts. Your accounts lists connections you added; Workspace lists all shared accounts. Neither tab makes an account private. Reconnect repairs the existing account; Sync refreshes known accounts rather than discovering new ones. The connector or owner/admin may disconnect; disconnecting makes linked chats unavailable and reconnecting starts fresh.
