Datarooms
The same walkthrough in writing, with a screenshot for every step.
Use your data room to securely store and organize all documents a buyer will request—such as accounts, contracts, licenses, and leases. This process outlines three efficient ways to upload documents: directly from your computer, by requesting documents from others, and by importing from Google Drive. Every uploaded file is automatically checked and mapped by AI to your checklist.
Open your data room where all your documents will be stored and organized.

Open the data room where you want to upload documents.

Navigate to the appropriate folder based on the document type (for example, accounts in “Financials,” contracts in “Legals”).
In the chosen folder, click on the Upload button to begin adding files from your computer.

You can either drag and drop files into the upload area or select them directly from your computer.

Once selected, the file will start uploading into your data room.

After upload, the system’s AI automatically matches the file to the correct checklist item and marks it as completed where applicable.
When someone else (such as your accountant, lawyer, or bookkeeper) holds the documents, use the Request Document feature from the top bar.
Click on Request Document.

Then click Create Link and copy the generated link.

Send this link to the person who has the documents. They will see a clean upload page where they can drag and drop their files and send them—no account, password, or sign-up required. They can upload PDFs, Word documents, Excel files, PowerPoints, or images up to 25 MB each, following the same rules as your own uploads.
They will only see the name of the room they are sending files to and nothing else: not your files, folders, listing, or other collaborators.

Everything they send is delivered straight into your data room and processed by the same AI checks, landing directly in the appropriate place.

The upload link remains active until you manually disable it. To turn it off, click Disable Link in the same area where you created it.

To bring in documents already stored in Google Drive, use the Import option from the top bar. Click Import.

Select Google Drive from the menu.

(OneDrive will be available soon and will appear in the same menu when supported.)
The first time you use this feature, you will be prompted to connect your Google account. A Google Sign-In window opens on top; choose the account you want to connect. If your browser blocks the pop-up window, complete the connection in the current tab via the settings page—the end result is the same.
After connecting, select the documents you want from Google Drive and confirm to upload them.

The imported files will land directly in your data room and be processed just like any other upload.
Continue adding documents using whichever method is most convenient: direct upload, request links, or Google Drive import. Every file you add increases your completion status. When the checklist shows Complete, your data room is ready to present to buyers. All three methods fill your room in the same way, so choose whichever is quickest for you.
Short answers to what people ask most about this part of the product.
This FAQ explains how to add documents to a data room using the three upload methods demonstrated in the recording, and clarifies how shared links and AI checks behave for different users involved in preparing a data room.
Q1. How do I upload documents from my computer into the data room?
Open the data room and navigate to the folder the file belongs in (for example, accounts in Financials, contracts in Legals). Click on Upload, then either drag and drop the file into the upload area or select it directly from your computer. The file will upload into the chosen folder in the data room.
Q2. What happens after I upload a file from my computer?
Once the file is uploaded, the AI matches the file against the checklist and marks the corresponding item as checked. This contributes to moving the overall data room status closer to Complete.
Q3. How can I request documents from my accountant, lawyer, or bookkeeper?
In the top bar of the data room, click on Request Document, then select Create Link. Copy the generated link and send it to the person who holds the documents so they can upload files directly into your data room.
Q4. What do external contributors see when they use the request link?
They see a single clean page where they can drop their files and send them, without needing an account, password, or sign-up. They can see the name of the room they are sending to, but they cannot see your files, your folders, your listing, or the other people you share with.
Q5. What file types and sizes can external contributors upload via the request link?
They can upload PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or image files up to twenty-five megabyte each. The same upload rules apply to them as to your own uploads.
Q6. How long does a document request link stay active, and how do I disable it?
The link keeps working until you turn it off. You can disable it by using the Disable Link option shown where the link is managed.
Q7. Do files uploaded via the request link get the same AI processing?
Yes, everything sent via the request link lands straight into your data room and receives the same AI check as files you upload yourself.
Q8. How do I import documents from Google Drive into the data room?
In the top bar, click on Import, then select Google Drive. The first time you do this, a Google Sign-In window opens on top; choose your account to connect it, then you can select and upload documents, which will land directly in the data room.
Q9. What should I do if my browser blocks the Google Sign-In window?
If your browser blocks the sign-in pop-up, open the sign-in flow in the current tab and complete the connection in settings. This achieves the same result of connecting your Google Drive so you can import documents.
Q10. Is OneDrive supported for importing documents?
OneDrive is not yet available but is coming soon, and it will appear in the Import menu when it is supported.
Q11. How does uploading files affect my data room’s completion status?
Every file you add moves the data room closer to completion according to the checklist. When the status says Complete, your data room is ready to show.
Q12. Does it matter which upload method I use for filling the data room?
No, you can choose whichever method is quickest for you—direct upload from your computer, request link, or Google Drive import. The room fills up the same way regardless of the method used.
