Creating an Effective Listing

Step-by-step guide

The same walkthrough in writing, with a screenshot for every step.

Creating an Effective Listing

Use this process to create a compelling listing that attracts buyers by clearly explaining what you sell, who buys it, how it runs, and where it can grow, while also organizing it into categories and adding safe, professional images.

Step 1: Enter the Title and Short Description

Start by entering a clear, concise title and a short description for your listing. This is the information that appears on the listing card before anyone clicks to see more, so make it specific, accurate, and appealing.

Step 2: Complete the Four Main Information Boxes

Fill out the main details of your listing in the four boxes:

  1. What you sell – Describe the product or service you offer.
  2. Who buys it – Explain your typical customers or target market.
  3. How it runs – Summarize how the business operates day to day.
  4. Where it could grow – Highlight growth opportunities or expansion ideas.

Only the first box (“What you sell”) is required, but listings that complete all four sections tend to receive more inquiries, so fill in each box thoroughly.

Step 3: Select Categories and Revenue Model

Choose the most accurate categories for your listing so buyers can easily find your business. Then specify how the business earns money (for example, subscriptions, one‑time sales, advertising, or services). Make sure these selections match what you described in the four information boxes.

Step 4: Generate Safe, Clean Listing Images

Screenshot 3

Most sellers cannot safely use real photos because signs, logos, or faces can reveal the business identity. Instead of uploading real images, click Generate Set to automatically create a set of clean, generic pictures with no signs, no logos, and no faces. Use these generated images to present your listing professionally while keeping the business anonymous.

Listing Information FAQ

Introduction

This FAQ explains how listing information is structured and displayed to buyers, and is intended for sellers preparing or optimizing their listings.

FAQ Content

Q1. What parts of my listing do buyers see first?
Buyers first see your title and a short description; this is what appears on the card before anyone clicks into the full listing.

Q2. What information goes into the four main listing boxes?
The full story of your listing is captured in four boxes: what you sell, who buys it, how it runs, and where it could grow.

Q3. Is it mandatory to complete all four listing boxes?
Only the first box, describing what you sell, is required, but listings with all four boxes filled in tend to receive more inquiries.

Q4. How do categories work in the listing?
Categories are used so buyers can find your listing more easily and to indicate how the business earns money.

Q5. Why should I use generated photos instead of real photos?
Most sellers cannot safely show real photos because they risk giving the business away, so using the “Generate Set” option produces clean pictures with no signs, no logos, and no faces.

Q6. How do I generate safe listing images?
You can press “Generate Set” to automatically create a set of clean images that avoid showing identifying details such as signs, logos, or faces.
