What it does

Xero works with the Financials step of the listing editor.

  • ImportSelect Import from Xero, and SellAnyBiz reads your Profit and Loss for the last three completed financial years.
  • ReviewYou see the imported figures beside the ones already on the listing, and tick the years you want. Nothing on the listing changes until you do.
  • A mark for buyersEach year you bring in carries a small mark buyers can see: From the seller's Xero, with the date. It names no company. A figure you later edit by hand loses its mark.
  • Kept up to dateAbout once a month SellAnyBiz reads the books again. It never changes a figure by itself: if the numbers moved, the editor tells you, and you decide.

The mark says where the numbers came from. It is not an audit, and it is not the listing's Verified badge.

Whose connection is it?

The connection is yours. It is saved for you, in the workspace where you connected it.

  • Your teammates do not share this authorization. Each person connects their own Xero sign-in.
  • Any member of a workspace can connect. There is no step for an owner or an admin.
  • One connection can reach several Xero organisations. You pick one for each import.

What SellAnyBiz asks Xero for

SellAnyBiz asks Xero for five things.

  • Confirm who you are with Xero.

Sent to the provider as openid

  • See your email address, so the card can show which Xero account is connected.

Sent to the provider as email

  • Keep the connection working, so you are not asked to sign in again for every import.

Sent to the provider as offline_access

  • Read your organisation's name, currency and financial year end, and your chart of accounts.

Sent to the provider as accounting.settings.read

  • Read your Profit and Loss report.

Sent to the provider as accounting.reports.profitandloss.read

Every permission is read-only. SellAnyBiz cannot create, change or delete anything in Xero, and it does not ask for your balance sheet, your invoices or your bank data.

How we handle your data: our Privacy Policy

Good to know

  • Figures are placed by the type of each account in Xero, never by its name.
  • A year only gets figures when SellAnyBiz's totals agree with Xero's own totals for that year.
  • The name of your company is shown to you while you review, and never to buyers.
  • To import into a listing, you must be able to edit that listing.

Individual and team use

One person authorizes access to one or more Xero organizations. Imported listing figures can be used by authorized listing collaborators. They cannot reuse your OAuth grant; scheduled refresh also checks the original importer’s current membership and access.

Capabilities and limits

Reads authorized organizations, accounting settings, and Profit and Loss reports for listing financial imports.

  • Read-only scopes are used. Organization/report permissions in Xero still apply.
  • Only supported Profit and Loss figures are imported, not a complete ledger or a two-way accounting sync. The provider’s current connection tier and rate limits apply.

Connecting, renewal, and removal

When enabled in this environment, connect from Settings → Integrations → Your integrations. Team-content integrations also appear under Workspace, but still use your own authorization. An expired or revoked grant needs Reconnect. Disconnect removes your SellAnyBiz connection; it does not transfer or delete copies already imported into a room or listing. Google/Microsoft provider consent may remain because sibling integrations share a client.
